Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue. Proverbs 17:28
Over and over again, the proverbs encourage us to refrain from using our tongues in an ungodly manner. The truth of that idea should not be overlooked because the tongue gets us into so much trouble as it is. We speak before we think. We laugh at this particular proverb, but the irony of the proverb is that very rarely will a foolish person keep silent.
Once again, consider your tongue. How are you using it? How are you taming it?
