The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9
It’s always interesting to me to see the great lengths that people go to in order to cover over the crime they’ve committed. That’s what Watergate was essentially about: a coverup. Lies covering over lies which happen to be hiding more lies.
If we’re not careful we as Believers can fall into that trap as well. We hide things from other Believers all the time. We commit some sin and don’t want the church folk to know about it. Are you guilty? I think we all are. It’s not that we’re lying necessarily, it’s just that we have a certain facade that we want to present so that others will not judge or look badly upon us.
Perhaps, though, we might consider how God looks at it all. We often forget that He sees our every action, and even the action we’re trying to cover up. Our crooked paths will also be found out.
