Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit.
Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts.
Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Proverbs 26:24-26
Yesterday I addressed politicians and the lies they tell. These three verses are similar. In the end we don’t know whether politicians are telling the truth by what they say but by their actions and how they govern. We do know this, their lies and wickedness will be exposed, whether it’s in this life or otherwise. For some, it’s little to no comfort since they money in the form of taxes has already been taken and spent for the votes they received.
But, like all of life, their “day of reckoning” will come. So, we do what we can to expose their lies in this life, but they will not get away with it for long.
While it’s easy to point fingers at the obvious lies and deceit of politicians, if we practice the same, our lies and deceit will be exposed too.
