I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. Psalm 89:23
Today I noticed two small gatherings of tiny ants in my kitchen. Clearly someone had spilled something sugary on the floor. It wasn’t hard to know how to handle the situation. I threw a wet paper towel on them and stomped on it. Just like that I had crushed those annoying little ants.
When God chooses to destroy His enemies, He does so without remorse. Christ Himself had fierce enemies, and even though many thought they had once and for all defeated Him with the crucifixion, Christ rose from the dead victoriously. He triumphed over the grave and His enemies.
His enemies still try desperately to thwart His ways and those of His Believers. While we as Believers must endure the onslaught of rage from the enemy, we know that the enemy’s days are numbered.
Still, though, the war isn’t over.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.1 Peter 5:8
