6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me. Psalm 101:6
David is pointing out in this verse that he is watching others carefully to see how they act and react.
People all around us are also watching us. Sometimes, unfortunately, they’re not able to see signs of a faithful life in us when we complain and act like there’s no difference in our lives. People are looking for something authentic though I don’t think they expect perfection.
They’re observing how we treat others, the words that come out of our mouths, and our diligence in what we say and do.
They don’t care a bit about our “bumper sticker” logos, slogans, and cliches; our Christian bookstores. radio stations, and music; or our church attendance records.
The one question remains: are we different enough from others for them to sit up and take notice?
If not, what areas are hindering us?
