13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 And he has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his faithful servants,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.
Praise the Lord. Psalm 148:13-14
Leaders, young and old, men, women, children, animals, and every part of creation praises the Lord. It’s never a contest who will be louder or who will praise longer. Even in the best of scenarios here we can become enraptured and “caught up” in our worship.
We all worship God for different reasons. Sometimes those reasons are displayed on a large screen we see in church. Singing these words reminds us of some reasons to worship.
More often than not, though, we worship on the basis of what is happening at that moment in our lives. Sometimes we just can’t get past today in our worship. There’s nothing at all wrong with that because it’s where we are.
Of course there are times that we praise as we consider what He has done for us.
Here’s something to consider: what will praise look like in Heaven?
Will it be constant?
Will it be loud and boisterous?
Will it involved instruments?
Will there be “specials” by individuals or groups?
Will we all be praising in one language?
Will we be able to see all the throngs of people worshiping?
I don’t know. What do you think?
