A fool spurns his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. Proverbs 15:5
God placed fathers and mothers in authority over their children for a reason: because they’ve “been there, done that” in many life situations. If a parent asks a child to do his homework or to take the garbage out, it’s not because they are being mean to a child but because they know that even a small amount of discipline is needed in the home.
On the other hand, children who ignore their parents’ discipline do so at their own peril. Often they have to learn the hard way or not at all.
If you don’t already do so, pray for a child today. Pray that that child will undergo the discipline he/she needs to become a great person. The generation today is growing up under great pressures and they need our prayers.
