The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him. Proverbs 20:23

If the Book of Proverbs is all about Wisdom, then how does a verse like this fit in? Think of it like this. Do you think that if you cheat someone God doesn’t see it? Of course He sees. He sees everything. So why do we do it since we clearly know that God is all-seeing and all knowing.

I think we forget that God sees all. We think we won’t get caught because we got one over on a business man. Or if we do remember we rationalize that it doesn’t really matter to God.

Again, God wants us to be wise in our dealings with others. That includes the way we conduct our business. Is it on the up and up or is it even a tad shady? Only you can decide. But remember, God already knows that decision.
