Displeasure

4 Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. Psalm 85:4

Breaking a dish.
Messing up a bedroom.
Playing loud music.
Getting sent to the principal’s office.
Breaking the neighbor’s picture window.

These (and countless more) are all activities and reasons you could be upset at your child. How long does that displeasure last? Well, it depends on the severity of the infraction. You could be upset for a few minutes to a few hours hours, and, in extreme cases, days depending on the infraction.

The psalmist knew what it was like to experience the displeasure of Almighty God.

But God is consistent. He is always there, and always ready “to bend His ear” to hear us when we speak.

Does He get upset at some of our ways? Absolutely. Wouldn’t any father do the same?
