Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the people of the world revere him.

As I read over this passage today, I couldn’t help but think about the question in the title. Think about it: if you were the God of all creation, what would be your next “encore?”

In the West, we like bigger, better, and faster. If we’ve experienced something, we’ll graduate onto something else bigger, better or faster. That’s the appeal of drugs; it’s a new high people are after.

Think about actors and athlete who are at the top of their game; what’s next for them? What do they need to conquer next? It’s why they take drugs or prettier spouses. They’re not satisfied being at the top of their profession. With rare exception that’s true.

But God is wholly different than that. As He creates more and more vivid sunrises and sunsets, it’s pleasing to Him. He’s doing it for His creation. More than six billion people get to view a new angle of his works daily. And the sunrises and sunset are merely one aspect of His creation. Think of His the six billion people on the planet – all different, all special.

No, He doesn’t get bored, but we do. We get bored and want more. It’s how God has wired us. The “more” He wants us to have, though, is more of Him.
