Early and Often

17 All this came upon us,
though we had not forgotten you;
we had not been false to your covenant.
18 Our hearts had not turned back;
our feet had not strayed from your path.
19 But you crushed us and made us a haunt for jackals;
you covered us over with deep darkness. Psalm 44:17-19

This is what raw emotion looks like. It’s as if the sons of Korah are saying, “we did all of this for You, and this is how you repay us?” It’s real. It’s what we feel when it seems the world is against us. It’s not wrong at all. In fact, it’s very healthy.

If I’ve said it once in this space, I’ve said it a hundred times: the Lord is concerned more that you’re actually coming to Him than what you say when you’re there. You see, it takes humility to bow the knee every day. Don’t believe me? Why is it a struggle to do then? Forget that there are forces of evil that do no want you to come to Him. Committing to it and doing it is humbling.

Go to Him early and often. He’s waiting.
