Earnestly Praying for Him

5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. Acts 12:5

There’s something so “right” about this verse. It’s like it’s supposed to be in the real world. A man in trouble; the church is praying.

We can’t fully grasp how our prayers actually work. Let’s face it, sometimes they’re effective, sometimes they aren’t. But it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pray. Jesus commanded us to pray. Paul went a step further by saying we should pray without ceasing. So, just because I don’t see the answers of prayer doesn’t mean they aren’t effective.

Think about this: Jesus was God in the flesh, and He prayed!

So, if someone is in “crisis mode” as Peter was, pray. If someone is getting close to that point, pray. In good and bad, pray. Grab the hem of His garment and pray.
