As Westerners we live in a unique time in history. Major diseases that have plagued the world is all but eradicated, we have more food than we know what to do with, and clean drinking water is merely a turn of the faucet away.
The words David wrote seems so distant to us. But before we become so mesmerized by our successes and ability to live longer and more enjoyable lives, we should also consider the moral slide we’ve taken even in the past 20 years: abortion is still taking innocent lives every day, the homosexual lobby continues to gain more and more traction, and the reckless spending by our politicians at all levels of government is simply unsustainable.
Lest you think the United States is unstoppable as a world power and force for good in the world, consider England just 100 years ago to where that country is today. Nations come and nations go.
Thank the Lord for the freedoms we enjoy. Thank Him that He continues to bless this nation.
