41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah. Acts 5:41-42
Since the Sanhedrin gave the apostles a reluctant thumbs up on their preaching, the men were bolder than ever in their street evangelism. They had a great message, freedom to preach, and thousands willing to listen. It’s a street preacher’s dream. The difference, of course, is that they were the original street preachers. They had walked side by side with Jesus and were eyewitnesses of His power and majesty. They were becoming more emboldened as each day passed.
One of the lessons here is clear: when the Lord is on your side, know that God is in control of the situations around you. Yes, there will be struggles, tension, and opposition, but He will give you strength for each day.
