Encouraged and Strengthened

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles. Romans 1:11-13

Throughout this passage is an air of expectation. First Paul wants to make his readers stronger and more encouraged in their faith. He also wants to see a harvest among them, which is merely an extension of the previous point, a harvest so that the Believers there could be encouraged and strengthened.

So should our expectations be when we interact with other Believers.

Expect that the other will grow strong and be encouraged by your faith.
Plan your speech to be edifying and encouraging to the other person.
Encourage the other person in every way you know how.

The battles we each face are different in size and scope, but we all need to be encouraged in our faith as much as possible.
