The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:20-21
As Christians, we often gloss over the term “eternal life” when we come across it. But throughout this book and in the New Testament in general, eternal life is a key belief of the Bible-believing Christian.
That eternal life can only come through Jesus Christ.
When others tell us that there are many ways to God, it is easily refutable. The people you tell it to may not like it or agree with it, but it’s as clear as can be in this and other passages. Of course, you win no friends when you are dogmatic as that. In fact, you will be probably be called narrow-minded, bigoted, self-righteous, and other not-so-fun names. Even as I write this, I know that some of you have experienced that, and it wasn’t pleasant.
Know this, though, when you’re standing on the side of truth, God is on your side regardless of what others say. His opinion of what you say and believe is more important than the opinions of everyone in the world combined.
Yes, the eternal life we enjoy as Believers is only through Jesus Christ.
