The way the state of affairs in the world is today, we certainly don’t see a lot of nations coming to worship God. In fact, we see the exact opposite.

We see nations running from anything God-related. We see rampant corruption. We see lawlessness and the flaunting of moral correction at every turn. We see leaders who seek war because people backing them seek war to profit from it. We see angry and dysfunctional people throughout society. We see the hatred of Jews and the Jewish nation worldwide. No, nations are, like Jonah, running away from God instead of towards Him.

Pity.

I don’t pretend to understand how this will all be sorted out at the end, but the Bible tells us that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).

Nations. People groups. Individuals. Corrupt. Honest. Atheists. Muslims. Christians. Young and old. Rich and poor. Black. White. Brown.

Every knee will bow.
