5 Hear the word of the Lord,

you who tremble at his word:

“Your own people who hate you,

and exclude you because of my name, have said,

‘Let the Lord be glorified,

that we may see your joy!’

Yet they will be put to shame.

6 Hear that uproar from the city,

hear that noise from the temple!

It is the sound of the Lord

repaying his enemies all they deserve.

Isaiah 66:5-6

In this portion of the chapter, we see the divergence of true followers versus false ones.

The ones who truly seek to serve God are hated and excluded.

Yet the same people who hate the true followers of God say spiritual things in mockery.

Well, God tells us what will happen to these who hate the true followers. They will be put to shame and they will get what they deserve.
