3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3
This is a powerful verse as we consider its implications. Most of us have forgotten that it’s even in the Bible.
This spells out that we don’t need human philosophy, trite sayings and quotes, or anything else this world dreams up to live a godly life.
In fact, you could easily argue that those things are a hindrance to living a godly life.
Does this mean we won’t have problems, temptations, and issues in life? Of course not, but He has made a way for us to overcome. Consider this a supplement to 1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I encourage you to commit this verse to memory. God can do some powerful things with this in our memory banks.
