1 Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
protect me from the violent,
2 who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.

For most of us, it’s difficult to conceive the ways and methods evil people use to commit atrocities. Certainly we understand there is evil in the world, but how people actually could think about the ways and implement them is a great mystery. Occasionally I’ll come up with an idea and wonder why the bad guys have never thought of it yet. Of course I would never publish it in any for so they couldn’t possibly come across the idea even by accident.

As we’ve prayed in the past, perhaps we need to pray against the darkness once again. Join with me please.

Lord Jesus,
We know there is evil in the world and we know that evil men are always plotting and scheming to commit these acts of evil against innocent humans. We pray that you wold confuse the plans of the enemy so that it frustrates them to no end. We pray they would be so confused that they would be demoralized and quit.

But I also pray for those evil men who are searching for the truth. I know they are out there. Perhaps they just got caught up in the webs of other higher ranking people and can’t get out. I pray that you would reveal yourself to those who are truly seeking the truth. You are not willing that any should perish so I pray for those few people who are seeking you. Tear off the blinders on their eyes so they may see the truth. Draw these people to yourself.
