6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”
Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.
7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
you shield my head in the day of battle.
8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;
do not let their plans succeed. Psalm 140:6-8
Yesterday we discussed the plans and tactics of the enemy, the devil. He has schemes and plans and the will to create havoc in our lives, that is, if we let him.
We, of course, do not want him to succeed. It does us no good to fret and worry about his schemes. He’s doing exactly what he does all the time; that should be no surprise to us.
We, on the other hand, are encouraged to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23), pray in the Spirit (Ephesians 6;18), put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), pull down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4), and take captive every thought (2 Corinthians 10:5).
And as I concluded yesterday, we are not alone in this battle.
One response to “Failure is the Only Option for the Devil”
