Faith and Goodness

11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-

Are you worthy of His calling?

Most Christians would say that we are not worthy of His calling. And in many respects, we aren’t.

So, what does this mean? As BibleRef points out, “If the Thessalonians led a holy and righteous life that revealed Christ to others, they would be worthy of their calling.” To put it in the vernacular, “Don’t embarrass yourself, others, and Christ with your unholy living.” Do the opposite. Shine as the lights that we are.

Moving on. Read these words again, “that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.”

Let those words saturate your mind and heart.

Read them again and think about them.

What kind of goodness do you desire?
What kind of deeds is your faith prompting you to do?

The answers to those two open-ended questions are endless.

Goodness and faith.
Faith and goodness.

I’d say commit these words to memory and watch God work in your life through them.

11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-
