When I was a boy in my father’s house, still tender, and an only child of my mother,
he taught me and said, “Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live.” Proverbs 4:3-4
We don’t realize it at the time but our fathers have great influence over us both good and bad. Sometimes by his actions and words, he taught us what not to do or say. As kids we pick up on those things even if they aren’t explicit. Without knowing the full extent of my readership and father/child relationships, I pose this question: what was something your father taught you that you are doing or not doing today because of your father? If you could narrow it down to one thing, what would it be?
Would you just thank God for that tidbit of wisdom and insight?
