Find Rest

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Psalm 62:5

Over and over again in this chapter, the soul-rest theme is repeated. If something is repeated in Scripture, the Lord tries to drive home a point. We see that with many things: wisdom, salvation, sacrifice, praise, helping widows, orphans and aliens. The list goes on and on.

Our souls need rest. We take on more than we can handle, and life just beats us around.

The time to find rest for the soul is today.

Not tomorrow or when you have time. Now.

When you are considering everything you need to do.

Rest that soul. Lay it down. Give it all over.

You need to do that more than you need to do more things.

Find rest in God, my soul!

  1. good word – my grandmother used to say, “how long are you going to stand out in the rain before you realize you can come in the house and be dry.”
