He beat back his enemies; he put them to everlasting shame. Psalm 78:66

At some point I suspect the Israelites thought they had it made. Finally, finally God was going to rescue them. Their worries would be over. Their Deliverer had come.

The Israelites didn’t know the rest of that story. It was true; God was punishing their enemies one by one. They thought they were off the hook, so to speak. As we’ll see tomorrow, they weren’t at all off the hook.

Neither do we know the rest of our stories. We really don’t know what’s on the other side of tomorrow.

Fortunately, though, we are able to trust God for tomorrow.
