12 The city of Tyre will come with a gift,
people of wealth will seek your favor.
13 All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
her gown is interwoven with gold.
14 In embroidered garments she is led to the king;
her virgin companions follow her—
those brought to be with her.
15 Led in with joy and gladness,
they enter the palace of the king. Psalm 45:12-15

There is still plenty of imagery here: Tyre – the world or Gentiles, wedding, and now the King and his daughter the princess. One interpretation of the passage shows that as the world sees the Church (princess) as she should be, they will be compelled to inquire about the Lord. The Church (or people within), then, will lead them to the King/Father.

The Church should, in fact, be ambassadors for Christ to the world (1 Corinthians 5:20). As a friend of mine used to say, “we’re just beggars showing other beggars where to find bread.” When other beggars see the food we have, they’ll ask where we found it. We then tell them exactly where we found it.

The key then is to make sure the “food” we have isn’t selfishness, greed, conceit, anger, or discontent. Otherwise they’ll look elsewhere for the food.
