To have a fool for a son brings grief; there is no joy for the father of a fool. Proverbs 17:21
We all know this to be true in life with our sons and daughters, but what about our spiritual life?
Do we bring joy to God by our actions prompted by our faith? Does God smile when He sees us as obedient children? Incidentally, I’m not referring to the salvation issue of believing in Jesus Christ, but our day to day activities after we become Believers.
Or, like the father in this proverb, is God saddened by the things we say and do?
As an elderly gentleman in Alaska used to tell me: you sin, you repent, and get on with life all over again tomorrow.
We will say and do foolish things at times, but it’s in our best interest to repent and get on with life all over again tomorrow.
