8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9
Again, Paul, writing from experience, exhorts those who decide to stay single. Today, society would say there was something with the person if he/she remained single their entire adulthood. Paul said it was a good thing because it allowed them to focus on the Lord.
I recall many years ago how several families adopted me as their own because I was single. We hung out on Sunday afternoons and had occasional suppers together. I felt right at home.
Perhaps you know a single that you could “adopt” like that. Take the time to get to know them. They are often overlooked, and can be a great source of encouragement because they tend to see things from a unique angle as a single.
