Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars. Proverbs 9:1

Just when you think you’ve heard enough about wisdom, the ninth chapter of Proverbs repeats the same theme. It certainly can’t hurt to hear a little more about wisdom if it is so vitally important to our life, can it?

Appropriately enough, the writer talks about a seven pillar foundation being laid for a house. Throughout the Scriptures, seven is considered the “perfect” number. So we have a perfect foundation made of wisdom. If only we were taught when we were young the foundation that wisdom should play in our lives. But since we can’t turn back the hands of time, we can incorporate this wisdom into our lives now.

Pray and ask God for wisdom. Study the Scriptures. Seek out those who are wise.
