The Fragrance of Your Prayers and Giving

The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. Acts 10:4

This one verse gives us insight into how God views prayer and giving. What’s not debatable is “He hears our prayers and acknowledges our giving.” It’s significant. What He does with that memorial offering is still unknown but it doesn’t just go into “thin air.”

For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one, we are an odor of death and demise; to the other, a fragrance that brings life. And who is qualified for such a task? 2 Corinthians 2:15-16

That’s the picture-story that comes to mind when thinking about our prayers and gifts to the poor.

How is your “aroma” these days? Is God desperately hoping you will send more His way, so to speak, or are you overwhelming Him with your fragrance?
