And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. Mark 1:35
It’s not as significant that Jesus went out and prayed in the morning as He did it in isolation, though morning and isolation actually go hand in hand.
In the morning when nobody else is up is a great time to get alone. The streets are quiet; the birds are chirping and searching for their food. The emails and phone calls have yet to arrive. The kids and spouse are still sound asleep.
Plus you have clarity of thought just after you wake up.
Fresh praise.
Fresh requests.
Fresh thanksgiving.
Everything’s fresh and crisp.
Now, is it a requirement to do these things early in the morning, given that perhaps 50% of the population are not early risers? No, not at all.
The important thing is that you are isolated with the Heavenly Father for you need strength for the day. The pressures we face are tremendous and it’s difficult to imagine going into those battles without strength from God Almighty.
