Glory and Strength

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. Psalm 96:6

The Psalmist mentions four wonderful attributes of God. Fortunately those are not all of His attributes, but they are significant.

Splendor and majesty are appropriate and fit for a king. In his sanctuary is perhaps a reference to the Ark, which would have been the symbol of His presence when this was written.

Today that sanctuary is His people or His church. It’s a fairly sobering thought that His strength and glory resides in us, His church. Of course He has not limited His glory and strength to us, but He chooses to display his glory and strength through us.

Think about these words as you go about your day.

Do people see this glory and strength being manifested or do they see something else?
