4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

If you need to experience the Holy Spirit anew…
If you need just to get away…

Go to The River.

The River of God is an unending supply of encouragement and refreshing for the weary and worn down soul.

The Holy Spirit is that river and He refreshes and restores your soul, as Psalm 23 says. It’s okay to laugh and cry and get angry and moan and worship and sing at The River. I don’t use this phrase much but “it’s all good.”

We can come to The River daily, hourly if need be. But for reasons beyond our understanding we don’t. Instead we suffer and try to do things under our own power and strength.

Come to The River.
