12 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. Acts 1:12
The apostles only had to walk a half mile to get to the upper room. It wasn’t a long time to process what had just happened. I’m sure they were filled with excitement, wonder, and intrigue. What was next? Nobody knew, and it would have been difficult to speculate. They were now in “unknown” territory. Everything they did from this point forward would be history in the making. Their lives and the lives of countless generations that follow would be changed forever. Did they realize it at the time? Probably not.
We never know what kind of influence we’ll have on those around us, even when we’re just by doing what we do every day. The little things add up to great things in God’s universe. We bear the “fruit” of a good and godly life, while God generates the harvest.
