What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.
What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
Romans 3:1-4
Throughout this chapter we’ll see how Paul lays out a “case” for the faithfulness of God. Fortunately (and thankfully) God’s faithfulness does not rely on the whims of man. If it did, well, God would certainly not be God.
Even though the Jews were entrusted with the words of God, they failed. We as Believers are also entrusted with the words of God, and we fail. But it certainly doesn’t nullify the words or the plan of God.
Think for a moment of one specific area God has been faithful to you when you have been less than faithful. Thank Him and praise Him for His faithfulness.
