Gone Gone Gone

50 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
52 Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
53 And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God. Luke 24:50-53

Hey, where’d He go?

When the disciples opened their eyes from the blessing, they saw Jesus being taken up to heaven. What a sight that must have been!

First they didn’t quite understand about Him dying.
They certainly didn’t get that He would be raised from the dead.
And now, He was leaving them again.

But this time it was different.

They worshiped Him.

They went back to Jerusalem and they had great joy.

He didn’t die this time. He was still alive!

That was the difference.

And it’s the difference between all world religions and Christianity.

Our Savior is alive.

It’s kind of a Big Deal.
