And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.” Revelation 21:3

All eyes are continuously on the Holy City descending out of heaven. Then John hears a great voice with a great message. This new heaven and new earth will be nothing like we’ve ever experienced. How so?

Think about it. Right now, God dwells within those of us who claim the Name of Christ. In essence, God himself is dwelling right now among us. John was speaking in terms of what he knew. The Temple of God had always been the “dwelling place of God.”

When the new heaven and new earth come our way, things will be different. Will we still have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us? Yes, probably. Will the new heaven and new earth be God’s dwelling place? Absolutely. How does that work then? I have no idea.

But based on His previous “track record” with creating something out of nothing, you just know it has to be good.
