Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. Romans 1:5-6

Even though Paul had a strong Jewish background, he went to the Gentiles – the non-Jews – to preach the Gospel. He realized – and we should too – that grace is extended to us all.

In our context, grace is extended to atheists, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Communists, Socialists, Republicans, Democrats, Tree Huggers, Journalists, Business people, politicians, Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, the spiteful, the unloveable, the ungodly, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, murderers, gossips, envious, hateful, thieves (perhaps redundant with politicians), and your plain jane sinners.

I think I fall into a couple of those categories.

And so do you.
