Grace Isn’t Just a Mealtime Word

I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Corinthians 1:4

If you’re like most believers, you’ll bow your head at a meal and give thanks. It’s the right thing to do.

But there are times throughout the day when it’s just as appropriate to give Him thanks for the blessings He gives us.

Think about where you live, your health, the roof over your head, the people you interact with, the freedoms we still enjoy, the activities you engage in, the people you love. Those are all worthy of thanksgiving to God for providing them.

We’re not guaranteed tomorrow.

When I was first trying to understand all of this Christian stuff, I told a friend that I didn’t know if God was blessing me or not. He smiled and said, “Are you alive?” I nodded. “Then He’s blessing you.”

I can add 40 years later, “name them one by one.”
