Great Gain

32 In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; in spite of his wonders, they did not believe.
33 So he ended their days in futility and their years in terror. Psalm 78:32-33

Verse 32 could have been written in 2015 or any year prior to it. The blessings of God in the United States are manifold. There’s so much light here. And yet, millions still do not believe.

We have it all but aren’t satisfied. We crave more and better and bigger and richer and more beautiful. The culture presses us to want more, to not be satisfied with what we have.

We see that kind of dissatisfaction in our own lives and in our churches.

So I have to ask “why?”

  • Why aren’t we satisfied?
  • Why do we want more?
  • Why do we think that bigger and wealthier is better?

Only you can answer that question for yourself. Some reading this may very well be content with everything they have.

Keep searching and asking those questions. The answers to those questions are well worth the search.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6
