It’s true that those we hang out with will influence our thoughts and decisions. If we hang out with angry people, we may become angry. If we hang out with joyous and peaceful people, those characteristics will rub off on us.

Go down the list of characteristics you’d like to achieve (peace, loving, generous, joyous, etc). Do your friends have those qualities when you’re around them?

The flip side of that is this, are you exhibiting those qualities (the qualities you are expecting in others) in front of your friends?
