A number of years ago I overheard a woman talking about her phone conversation she had with a customer service representative. The phone call had lasted about 15 minutes, and her conclusion to the story was, “I just needed to say something, and I don’t even think the man was paying attention.”

I relayed that conversation to my wife, and she nodded in agreement with the woman. My wife said, “Sometimes women just need to talk things through regardless of whether anything gets solved.”

Fortunately we serve a God who listens to everything we say no matter how trite or important we think it is.

At the conclusion of our prayers, we can say with confidence that not only did we get our concerns off our chest, but He heard us.
