1 O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God. Psalm 83:1
This is the cry of everyone who cares about the plight of those who are in unjust and abusive situations. Why O Why, God? Don’t you care? Can’t you see what is happening to them? Don’t you care?
Of course God cares. There’s so much we don’t understand about sin and living in a fallen, degenerate world. Yes, in the end it will all be sorted out, but boy, it isn’t easy watching it all take place.
So, what is it you are crying out to God about today? Perhaps it’s something very personal. Perhaps it’s something very large and global. Whatever it is, He wants us to cry out. Plead with him. Beg him to move on that situation. He knows the injustice and pain.
He obviously knows what’s it’s like to be abused and humiliated for all the world to see. He also conquered the grave and walked among the people.
Yes, He knows what it’s like.
