6 Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy.
7 When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me. Psalm 86:6-7
We see this prayer throughout the Old Testament: “hear my prayer.” We aren’t the only one who feel that way sometimes.
Generations of Believers around the world wanted to make sure that God was paying attention and listening to the prayers of His Saints. It’s easy to dismiss these three words as mere “filler,” but they sometimes are the words of someone in dire need. He’s reached the end of his rope. She can’t take another tragedy this month; she just can’t. For some, they are completely overwhelmed with life.
My prayer is that you will not be bashful about calling out to God for your deepest and most heartfelt needs.
Hear our prayers, O God, for we are needy and in distress. In Christ’s Name, Amen.
