Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. John 3:33-36
Slightly hidden in these few verses is a reference to the Trinity and how the Trinity works completely and cohesively together. Also, verse 36 gives us concise and precise directions to becoming a Believer in Christ, and the consequences of not believing. Even with these two major doctrines is still a third doctrine, and it’s that of Complete Control.
As children we gladly sang the words:
He’s got the Whole world, in his hands
He’s got the whole wide world, in his hands
He’s got the whole world, in his hands
He’s got the whole world in his hands.
The doctrine of the Trinity and that of Salvation are vastly important and they can only be strengthened by the fact that God is in control. Through the storms, floods, hurricanes, financial collapse, depraved sinful world, we can know that God is in control and has given “the reins” to that control to His son.
Today, as that song rings in your head(!), praise Him for the control He has amidst the chaos we’ve created for ourselves.
