4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,

David knew how to worship! He knew the right words to express what was going on deep within. He reminds us in a song the reasons to worship Him.
From that list of benefits, “redeems your life from the pit” resonates with me the most. It reminds me how lost I really was, and where my life was headed.
I know there are thousands of benefits of following the Lord, but David writes a few of them here. They seem to cover a lot of ground actually.
