9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. Titus 1:9
How difficult is it in these present days to hold firmly to the truth? It would be so easy to compromise in the pastorate. After all, the Gospel can’t be so exclusive, can it? Of course it can, and it is. The world pushes us to compromise on abortion, homosexual marriage, transgender issues, marital fidelity, hooking up, and a whole host of relevant social and moral issues. The world has convinced an entire segment of the Christian Church that the Bible isn’t true and there is no heaven or hell.
But pastors who remain faithful to the Word of God will be blessed, and will lead their congregations in the right direction. Your pastor and his family also needs your prayer because of the pressure they’re under and the spiritual attacks they face regularly. They need to know that others in their congregation are behind them and praying for them.
