Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord. Romans 16:11b
As I write this many are preparing to travel for the holidays. Holidays can be stressful for many, and family seems to be the reason high on the list for the stress. Petty squabbles, unforgiveness, sibling rivalry, and opening up wounds are just a few of the many reasons that family members get stressed. Unfortunately and as ironic as it sounds, the holidays seem to bring out the worst in people.
One of Paul’s greetings was to the household of Narcissus. Many were probably Believers. In your family there are both Believers and non-Believers. As mentioned yesterday, you probably understand and can relate to the Believers better than the non-Believers. Not always, but often.
As the holidays approach, our challenge is to pray for those who don’t believe and encourage those who do. If you are alone in your belief around family, then your challenge and burden is heavier. Don’t give up the fight. You are there for a reason.
