“The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother,
will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures. Proverbs 30:17

Isn’t it amazing that even though we’ve traveled through 4000+ years of history that things really haven’t changed. The writer of this book in Proverbs knew his generation and their tendencies, which not so oddly enough, is very similar to ours. He knew that people would complain about their parents and how negligent those parents were in raising them.

In many places throughout the Bible, we are encouraged to honor the elderly (and in this instance, our parents). Take the time to call someone who fits in the elderly category. You’ll be glad you did, and so will they.
