Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12
Have you ever longed and longed for something only to have it delayed for a few more weeks? You’re slightly saddened inside and you have to build up your hope again. It’s not an easy thing to do.
On the other side of the coin, have you ever done this to someone else? Have you ever promised something and not come through for that person? Perhaps a spouse. Perhaps a child. Perhaps a boss.
Many reading this have their hope in Christ. He has promised to return. He will return. He does not have the human weakness that we have. Our hope is sure; the promise He made to us is real.
